About Us

In February 1980, a total of sixty two mathematicians from almost all the existing Nigerian Universities and Colleges of Technology inaugurated the Nigerian Mathematical Society (NMS) at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

The aim of the society is the promotion of mathematical research and applications through:

  1. holding of conferences, symposia, workshops, etc.
  2. publishing of the Journal of the Nigerian Mathematical Society (JNMS) and other publications of high quality;
  3. awarding of prizes/recognition for outstanding contribution in Mathematical research;
  4. cooperation/affiliation with other bodies with similar objectives like the society.

Our Objectives
